JUST IN: NECO Releases 2022 SSCE Results

The Registrar of
National Examinations Council (NECO) Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, has announced the release of the November/December 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results.

He made the announcement in Minna, Niger State, on Thursday, noting a total of 59,124 candidates sat for the examination, of which 31,316 were male (52.96%) and 27,808 were female (47.03%).

Wushishi said that 58,012 candidates sat for English Language, with 44,162 (76.13%) obtaining a credit and above, while 57,700 candidates sat for mathematics, with 43,096 (74.69%) obtaining a credit and above.

He also added that 33,914 candidates (57.36%) obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics while 46,825 candidates (79.20%) obtained five credits and above, irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.

However, the Registrar reported a sharp rise in examination malpractice, with 11,419 candidates being booked for various forms of malpractice compared to 4,454 in 2021.

He attributed the increase to an improvement in the monitoring officers’ strategies and techniques, which resulted in the blacklisting of four supervisors – one each from Rivers and Plateau States and two from Ogun State – for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision.
